About

Hi! Iā€™m Kristin and I truly feel honored to be able to walk alongside people in their journeys towards healing and growth. My style is gentle, warm, relational, creative, and holistic. You are free to be all of you, to bring your quirks and humor, to curse, to cry or not, to be messy, to not have it all figured out, to give feedback, and to move at a pace that feels right for you.

I use a person-centered, collaborative, and strengths-based approach, providing an empathic, reflective, non-judgmental space that supports your innate capacity to move towards insight, healing and transformation. I hold a socio-cultural frame, seeking to understand how cultural, systemic and historical contexts may be impacting your experience. I welcome you to bring your whole self and identity, and value your unique connection to your ethnicity, culture, community, gender, sexuality, and spirituality/faith.

I draw from various approaches to create a personalized way of working that fits your particular needs, goals, and personality. I combine techniques that focus on building self-awareness and understanding the roots of an issue, learning new strategies and skills, and fostering self-acceptance and compassion for all of who you are. This includes ideas from mindfulness, somatic awareness, narrative therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and attachment work.

I also have training in Expressive Arts Therapy and can weave art, music, movement, dance, poetry, writing and drama to support your process. Learn more here.

I have been practicing therapy in various settings for 10 years, including community mental health clinics, schools and online private practice. I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (License No. LMFT 110776), and have a Masters Degree in Counseling Psychology, with an Emphasis in Expressive Arts Therapy from California Institute of Integral Studies, San Francisco.
